Olga worked tirelessly to find the perfect place for my family. I felt like she really listened to what our needs were and scoured the market to find us our apartment. Our want list was pretty tough, but I knew when she showed me an apartment she did a good job pre-qualifying it for us.
Being new to the city I was not sure what to expect in my search for my apartment. Alexander from Alpha Properties was great. I gave him the details of what I was looking for and the next day he showed me 9 or 10 different places in the neighborhood I was interested in until we found the right one. He was very responsive to all of my questions via text, email or phone call and showed a genuine interest and concern in finding me the right place!
I had the easiest experience working with David Spittler. Late last Monday, I saw an ad on craigslist, emailed, got an instant response - saw the apt Tuesday, applied and signed the lease the same day! He was extremely easy to work with - even met up with me at the apt the next day so I could take measurements. David actually went above and beyond to get me the deal that I needed to make it work.
I never thought I''d use a broker to get a lease (I''ve never had one in 9 years in NYC) and this experience totally changed my attitude about them.
I contacted a lot of brokers while I was desperately looking for a new place. A year ago I was forced to move out of my apartment within 10 days. I didn''t want to move away from the upper east side so I tried to find something close to my old place. As soon as the brokers found out that I am from Europe they told me I would never be able to get an apartment unless I earn enough money and have someone guarantee for me that earns even more money. After a very long day of looking at apartments that were simply inacceptable I met with Andi Antonucci from alpha properties. I had almost given up hope, I had to move out the next day and so far not seen a single place that was close to what I was looking for. I told her right away that I am not a US resident and that my salary was not as high as expected, but that I would still be able to pay for everything. First thing she said was that I shouldnt worry, she would find an apartment for me. She was so nice and said she would only show me apartments from where she knew the landlords could accept me. Out of all brokers I met with she was the only person who actually showed me apartments within my price range and exactly in the neighborhood where I wanted to live. I moved into a beautiful and perfect one-bedroom apartment only four days later! Everyone at alpha properties new york, especially Andi Antonucci, was so caring and nice and really eager to make it happen for me to not only move in asap but actually find the place I was looking for.
I can only recommend alpha properties!
This review is based on my interaction with Yana Ataman during my apartment search in December 2013/January 2014. We were looking for a one bedroom apartment in a luxury building. Although we were on a budget, Yana was patient with us and showed us different properties in the city. We were moving here from Pittsburgh and she was very responsive over emails and phone. She even agreed to meet us on Sunday evenings to accomodate our work schedules and crazy timelines. Yana is an interesting person as well and she was comfortable chatting with my wife & myself about interesting coffee places and travel experiences. This made the process well grounded as apartment hunting in the city can be a pain! I would certainly recommend Yana to my friends looking for apartment in the city. Thanks Yana!
Saul Cohen of AlphaNYC found me and my three roommates the perfect
apartment! We were looking for 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, in a hip
neighborhood, at a reasonable rate... Not easy criteria to say the
least. Not only was he patient with our very high standards and up
front about the listings he shot our way, but he ended up finding us a
beautiful space in the heart of Williamsburg. Once it was clear it
was the place for us, Saul made sure we were the ones to end up living
there. He was always available but never annoying. An entirely
positive experience. Thanks Saul!!
I recently transitioned from LA to NYC for a job opportunity. I wanted to be close to work on the Upper West Side. My family mentioned I needed a broker since I was also moving my family and needed the space. I found Israel the VP from Alpha Properties on craigslist but was sceptical dealing with him since I was remote from LA. He knows the Upper West Side pretty well and since I was very particular about things, Israel knew where to look at. I had my brother-in-law meet up with him and Israel was very accomodating. My brother-in-law knew my taste and after viewing 3 buildings, Israel found an apartment with all the amenities I asked for and is only a 1 1/2 block walk to work. Even though we ran through some hurdles with the management company (not his fault), that didn''t stop him from reassuring me that the we have the lease. During the month we communicated remotely prior to signing the lease, he was very responsive even past 9pm ET (6PM PT), never rushed me to signing a lease, and had an overall great attitude even when I was running late. I had a backup broker on standby but never needed him since Israel never wasted my time when I was shopping for an apartment. Thank you Israel for such a pleasant experience.
Ami is a wonderful broker who really cares about finding his clients a great deal. He was really helpful with trying to figure out what exactly I wanted (e.g., deal breakers, space requirements, location, etc.) and then doing an initial filter to make sure we didn''t waste time viewing apartments I wasn''t interested in. Furthermore, he was able to help me look at a place before it hit the market so that I could move fast on it. He is definitely someone I would work with again in case I ever need to find another apartment and he is someone I would refer to other people.
We worked with Mike Chang from Alpha Properties while searching for our first apartment in NYC and were 100% pleased. We were looking for a 2 bedroom on the Upper East Side. My roommate and I saw Mike''s listing on Craig''s List listing and were able to visit that day. We really liked the apartment, but knew we had a particular situation as one of us was currently out of the country. He met with my roommate that night to discuss the application process and the best plan of action. He was diligent in helping us through the process and worked intently to ensure we accepted and approved in a timely manner. Mike was professional and responsive throughout the entire process which really put us at ease. We had worked with an unreliable broker beforehand and were so pleased to have found Mike. He made the process easy and much less stressful. Can''t say thanks enough. Highly recommended!
Having lived in several apartments in the city, I know very well how painful looking for a new apartment can be. This time around we had Tom Beron as our broker, and all I can say is that the experience was as good as it gets. He had a great sense of what my roommates and I were looking for, and has great relationships with building managers in the Murray Hill and Gramercy areas. His relationship with one company in particular paid off extremely well. He was able to negotiate the rent down $250 on the unit we were interested in. You can imagine that my roommates and I were thrilled when we heard this news. He charged a fair price too. I've definitely overpaid for much crappier apartments before. When it came to the application process, it's definitely tough to get three recent college grads with every document in order. Tom was very patient with us while still staying on point and making sure everything was in order for the management company. It was great to have him as a broker, and I'll definitely be using him again when I'm in the market for a new place. Fortunate for my roommates and I, the place he got us is great so it might be a couple of years until then. I'd say if you are looking for an apartment in the Murray Hill / Gramercy area, Tom is definitely the guy to reach out to.
