I was in a bit of a bind trying to find a new apartment before my current lease was up (in a matter of days!) and Mike Chang from Alpha came to the rescue! Firstly, he responded quickly to an e-mail I sent regarding a few postings and set something up for the next day. After getting a good understanding of what I was looking for he mapped out a very efficient and time saving course for checking out a ton of apartments in a short amount of time. He wasted no time trying to persuade me on apartments I didn''t show any interest in and really made the search about me and what I wanted, which was refreshing compared to experiences I had in the past with other agents.
In the end, I found the perfect apartment and Mike encouraged me to move quickly... the two of us rushed to his office to get in the application and necessary paperwork in less than a day! All worked out and I was approved for the apartment. Mike and his colleague took me through the lease in a very detailed fashion, making sure I understood I was signing for.
All in all it was a pleasant experience and the process was fast and efficient. Mike was easy to talk to and was very patient with all my questions/concerns throughout the process (he was even gracious enough to hop of the phone with my parents to clarify a few things I was unsure of).
I would recommend Alpha Properties to anyone and would definitely use them again!
We recently went apartment hunting in the East Village. Alexander did a great job showing us tons of places. He was friendly, helpful and patient with us. We never felt pushed into anything. He knows his job. He''s honest. In a city like NY, those are two valuable assets.
We used Gilad Talmor of Alpha Properties to find a four-bedroom/ flex five in New York City. He was very knowledgable of the market, and always seemed to put the client first. He had a ton of listings that fit exactly what we were looking for and never wasted our time. Gilad was very easy to talk to, and he always seemed to make himself available whether it be by phone, email, or in person. Recommend using him for your next apartment search, because he will make the process that much easier especially if you are a first timer.
At my wit''s end. That''s where I was when I found an ad on yet another apartment finder site, for yet another "spacious one-bedroom" in the right neighborhood, at the right price that was... and here''s the biggest factor... PET FRIENDLY. I''d already been turned down by a couple of brokers who wouldn''t even work with me as I searched for a no-fee apartment that would accommodate me and my 100lb Akita. Apparently Akitas are considered aggressive breeds in NY...so even when I found apartments that allowed dogs over 50lbs...chances are they STILL wouldn''t allow my dog.
So anyway, I sent an email in response to the ad and heard back from Chris Corigliano from Alpha within the hour. Turns out that specific apt didn''t allow dogs over 25lbs (which, let''s face it...under 25lbs isn''t really even a dog)...BUT...he said I''ll find you something. He took me on...he didn''t laugh at my meager budget (which would be a good mortgage in some towns...but in New York doesn''t seem to get much more than a cardboard box ...but under a GOOD bridge). He didn''t think I was crazy to want a full size kitchen and a bedroom that ACTUALLY would fit a BED! He didn''t say, I can''t help you when he found out about the size of my dog. He said...don''t worry...we''ll find something.
And after a difficult search...with him even sending me leads while I was traveling out of the country for work...and looking at tons of apartments... and getting more rejections based on my dog... we finally found something. FINALLY. A proper one bedroom. He negotiated the rent down to fit in my budget and got me the move in date that I wanted (pro-rated for the month...which seems to be an issue w/a lot of the buildings these days). He was calm, he was patient and now my dog and I can remain together in a lovely apartment, in a convenient location (3 stops to my job!!).
Oh...and to top it off, when I moved in...waiting for me was the gift of a little tin of olive oil from his family''s farm in Italy. Seriously? So, would I recommend Alpha, absolutely. Chris C. ... a pure class act.
The only downside was that I did end up paying a fee (although it was well below the standard broker fee rates in NYC).
And for the record... as a public service announcement: I have met more aggressive Chihuahuas than aggressive akitas. It''s all about training and socialization. (Just had to get that off my chest).
I finally moved in:-))) got some of my stuff although I have no single furniture to put it into but I am just so happy. I love the apartment!!!!! The super is also very nice and I feel home being back to the area:-). Happy end:-).
I am so glad I met you and that you made this possible for me! I really hope to see you around some time!
I recently worked with Alexander Miller at Alpha Properties. He was very eager and showed me some great units. I was a little late getting my paperwork together and missed out on 2 really great apartments that he showed me. I would definitely work with Alex again!
Mike is a kind-hearted broker - the one that anyone would want when they are looking for a place to live.
In the world of apartment searching, there are many lies and deceit, but NOT with Mike! He is a 100% genuine person, and a pleasure to work with. Very friendly.
My first experience was in January- I had a friend living in Chicago who needed a place in NYC, but didn''t have a chance to fly out here to secure an apartment. This friend asked me to do him a huge favor and meet up with Mike to look at some places... it was GREAT! Mike was awesome. It was cold, but he was able to take me around in his SUV. We saw 15-20 places, many of which were quite different from one another, which is a great trait to have when viewing places. My friend in Chicago chose one of those places, and when cashier''s checks needed to be given, Mike met me at my office (all the way down in the Financial district) during my lunch hour to pick up the checks. He is great.
And when I needed a place to live a couple months later, you can guess who I called. Mike Chang. A broker king among broker peasants.
Working with Alpha was by far the best experience I''ve had with a broker or estate agent in the US or the UK.
Our broker is Alexander Miller. We spent days with other brokers looking at tiny studios, out of our price range, and fulfilling none of the requirements that we''d identified.
Alex showed us two places in about 15 minutes - both great deals, both beautiful, big apartments.
Alex is clearly really immersed and interested in his industry, and definitely does his research as he was able to find us two great options for a steal. We snapped up the first apartment we saw with Alex in the end.
Next step, having only just arrived from London, was to get all our paperwork in order so that we could move on the flat. Alex was really helpful and basically let us use his office like our own - we used spare computers and printed off stuff on Alpha''s printer. He even let us use a spare phone to make arrangements with our bank for payments to be made.
All in all, Alex and Alpha made it super easy for us to secure an amazing apartment at a really cheap rate. Highly recommend.
I had just moved from Chicago to New York and Alexander was the first agent that I met with. He was very helpful and informative about what to expect in my apartment search. I really appreciated his down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach, which I wasn''t expecting coming from the midwest. I definitely recommend working with him.
Right from the beginning, I was able to get in touch with Gilad with ease and he was able to work with my schedule in order to set up an apartment viewing on very short notice. He was very professional/courteous and he provided me with all the little details I needed to submit my application. Even after submitting the application, Gilad kept in touch and let me know everything that was going on with the management company so I was always aware of the application status.
Again, it was a pleasure working with Gilad Talmor and I hope to continue to do so in the future and would highly recommend him to friends and colleagues.
