We have dealt with a lot of agents in our search for the right apartment and Ory at Alpha Properties is on the top of our list. He was very professional and provided us with options of exactly what we were looking for in record time. He is easily contacted at any time via e-mails and his mobile. He made sure we did not rush into anything we weren''t sure about and did not pressure us during the process. Even though we didn''t close the deal because of issues on our end, Ory made everything he could to accommodate our needs and to help us get the unit we wanted. I gladly recommend him for your apt search as he is flexible and understanding and will make that process as smooth as possible. Thank you Ory!
I interacted with multiple brokers while looking for a Manhattan apartment, and Mike Chang was by far the most helpful, responsive, and professional agent I encountered. After making an online inquiry I received a phone call from him just a few short hours later. After realizing the apartment I was interested in wasn''t right for me, he began looking for others immediately. Unlike other brokers, Mike wasn''t pushy about renting an apartment outside of my price range- when I told him my preferred budget, he stuck to it. If you''ve had any experience with brokers in Manhattan you will know this is a very rare quality! Mike was always responsive to text messages and phone calls, and stayed in constant communication about meetings and appointments. Even after my lease signing he continued to help with questions I had for my building''s property management company.
Overall, I don''t think I could have had a better apartment search experience with any other broker. I highly recommend this trustworthy and professional agent for anyone looking for a Manhattan apartment. Thanks Mike!
I had the easiest experience working with David Spittler. Late last Monday, I saw an ad on craigslist, emailed, got an instant response - saw the apt Tuesday, applied and signed the lease the same day! He was extremely easy to work with - even met up with me at the apt the next day so I could take measurements. David actually went above and beyond to get me the deal that I needed to make it work.
I never thought I''d use a broker to get a lease (I''ve never had one in 9 years in NYC) and this experience totally changed my attitude about them.
I contacted a lot of brokers while I was desperately looking for a new place. A year ago I was forced to move out of my apartment within 10 days. I didn''t want to move away from the upper east side so I tried to find something close to my old place. As soon as the brokers found out that I am from Europe they told me I would never be able to get an apartment unless I earn enough money and have someone guarantee for me that earns even more money. After a very long day of looking at apartments that were simply inacceptable I met with Andi Antonucci from alpha properties. I had almost given up hope, I had to move out the next day and so far not seen a single place that was close to what I was looking for. I told her right away that I am not a US resident and that my salary was not as high as expected, but that I would still be able to pay for everything. First thing she said was that I shouldnt worry, she would find an apartment for me. She was so nice and said she would only show me apartments from where she knew the landlords could accept me. Out of all brokers I met with she was the only person who actually showed me apartments within my price range and exactly in the neighborhood where I wanted to live. I moved into a beautiful and perfect one-bedroom apartment only four days later! Everyone at alpha properties new york, especially Andi Antonucci, was so caring and nice and really eager to make it happen for me to not only move in asap but actually find the place I was looking for.
I can only recommend alpha properties!
My roommate and I spent three stressful weeks looking at sub-par apartments with various realtors in Manhattan. We were hoping to find a two bedroom in the Upper East Side, albeit with a modest budget. After we saw about ten apartments (ranging from ridiculously non-livable railroads to quasi-convertible one-beds) , essentially, the message we were receiving was "your budget is too low."
I contacted Andi Antonucci at Alpha Realty, and the first two apartments she showed us were far superior than others we had seen (in regards to both layout, quality and price). Both apartments within the same area we had spent weeks surveying.
The second apartment Andi showed us was fantastic--huge, a true two-bed, newly renovated, one block away from the subway and cost less han any other apartments we had seen prior. When we found out an application had already been placed for the apartment, we were extremely disappointed; but then Andi called me at 8:00 the next morning to alert me the spot had re-opened, and got our materials approved for a lower cost than originally listed. She went out of her way to make sure we got first-dibs. The place is really too good to be true!
The management at Alpha, particularly Raanan, is extremely professional, friendly, and straight-forward about the often-murky application process.
I highly recommend Andi and Alpha Realty!
Israel was amazing to work with. He really went over and beyond what is expected of a broker. We were extremely impressed with his work ethic, professionalism and knowledge of the NYC real estate market. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a broker. He was extremely responsive and able to think outside the box. He was also genuine and trustworthy - which is not always the case with brokers.
At my wit''s end. That''s where I was when I found an ad on yet another apartment finder site, for yet another "spacious one-bedroom" in the right neighborhood, at the right price that was... and here''s the biggest factor... PET FRIENDLY. I''d already been turned down by a couple of brokers who wouldn''t even work with me as I searched for a no-fee apartment that would accommodate me and my 100lb Akita. Apparently Akitas are considered aggressive breeds in NY...so even when I found apartments that allowed dogs over 50lbs...chances are they STILL wouldn''t allow my dog.
So anyway, I sent an email in response to the ad and heard back from Chris Corigliano from Alpha within the hour. Turns out that specific apt didn''t allow dogs over 25lbs (which, let''s face it...under 25lbs isn''t really even a dog)...BUT...he said I''ll find you something. He took me on...he didn''t laugh at my meager budget (which would be a good mortgage in some towns...but in New York doesn''t seem to get much more than a cardboard box ...but under a GOOD bridge). He didn''t think I was crazy to want a full size kitchen and a bedroom that ACTUALLY would fit a BED! He didn''t say, I can''t help you when he found out about the size of my dog. He said...don''t worry...we''ll find something.
And after a difficult search...with him even sending me leads while I was traveling out of the country for work...and looking at tons of apartments... and getting more rejections based on my dog... we finally found something. FINALLY. A proper one bedroom. He negotiated the rent down to fit in my budget and got me the move in date that I wanted (pro-rated for the month...which seems to be an issue w/a lot of the buildings these days). He was calm, he was patient and now my dog and I can remain together in a lovely apartment, in a convenient location (3 stops to my job!!).
Oh...and to top it off, when I moved in...waiting for me was the gift of a little tin of olive oil from his family''s farm in Italy. Seriously? So, would I recommend Alpha, absolutely. Chris C. ... a pure class act.
The only downside was that I did end up paying a fee (although it was well below the standard broker fee rates in NYC).
And for the record... as a public service announcement: I have met more aggressive Chihuahuas than aggressive akitas. It''s all about training and socialization. (Just had to get that off my chest).
Having lived in several apartments in the city, I know very well how painful looking for a new apartment can be. This time around we had Tom Beron as our broker, and all I can say is that the experience was as good as it gets. He had a great sense of what my roommates and I were looking for, and has great relationships with building managers in the Murray Hill and Gramercy areas. His relationship with one company in particular paid off extremely well. He was able to negotiate the rent down $250 on the unit we were interested in. You can imagine that my roommates and I were thrilled when we heard this news. He charged a fair price too. I've definitely overpaid for much crappier apartments before. When it came to the application process, it's definitely tough to get three recent college grads with every document in order. Tom was very patient with us while still staying on point and making sure everything was in order for the management company. It was great to have him as a broker, and I'll definitely be using him again when I'm in the market for a new place. Fortunate for my roommates and I, the place he got us is great so it might be a couple of years until then. I'd say if you are looking for an apartment in the Murray Hill / Gramercy area, Tom is definitely the guy to reach out to.
Carlos has been extremely helpful with aiding us in the process of finding a suitable apartment. Because of our specific requirements, our choices in apartment spaces were limited, however Carlos went out of his way to accommodate all our needs. Thanks to his dedication, Carlos ended up finding us the perfect apartment and I would highly recommend him in the future.
Mike is a kind-hearted broker - the one that anyone would want when they are looking for a place to live.
In the world of apartment searching, there are many lies and deceit, but NOT with Mike! He is a 100% genuine person, and a pleasure to work with. Very friendly.
My first experience was in January- I had a friend living in Chicago who needed a place in NYC, but didn''t have a chance to fly out here to secure an apartment. This friend asked me to do him a huge favor and meet up with Mike to look at some places... it was GREAT! Mike was awesome. It was cold, but he was able to take me around in his SUV. We saw 15-20 places, many of which were quite different from one another, which is a great trait to have when viewing places. My friend in Chicago chose one of those places, and when cashier''s checks needed to be given, Mike met me at my office (all the way down in the Financial district) during my lunch hour to pick up the checks. He is great.
And when I needed a place to live a couple months later, you can guess who I called. Mike Chang. A broker king among broker peasants.
