I worked with Andi Antonucci on getting a place of my own. She was very communicative and did a great job steering me in the right direction. She was honest up front about any fees and negotiable on her already low broker fee. Ms. Antonucci was willing to ride all over Manhattan in a taxi to ensure that I got the apartment that I wanted, and I really appreciated her dedication. If I don''t renew my lease on the space I just signed for, Alpha Properties will definitely be my first phone call when I start my next search.
I worked with Andi! She worked so hard to get me the perfect apartment. I was super stressed during the process, but Andi helped me keep my cool! She''s a great agent and if I ever move in NYC again, I will definately use her!
I worked with Michael Chang, who was extremely hands-on, helpful, and dependable. If I called him he was always there to answer my call, and met with me at very short notice on multiple occasions. When I expressed my budget, he made sure not go over it, and actually ended up finding my boyfriend and me a place below the number we were expecting to spend (hard request to get filled in this city). I highly recommend Alpha based solely on my experience with Mike, who literally found us the apartment of our dreams in a day!
At my wit''s end. That''s where I was when I found an ad on yet another apartment finder site, for yet another "spacious one-bedroom" in the right neighborhood, at the right price that was... and here''s the biggest factor... PET FRIENDLY. I''d already been turned down by a couple of brokers who wouldn''t even work with me as I searched for a no-fee apartment that would accommodate me and my 100lb Akita. Apparently Akitas are considered aggressive breeds in NY...so even when I found apartments that allowed dogs over 50lbs...chances are they STILL wouldn''t allow my dog.
So anyway, I sent an email in response to the ad and heard back from Chris Corigliano from Alpha within the hour. Turns out that specific apt didn''t allow dogs over 25lbs (which, let''s face it...under 25lbs isn''t really even a dog)...BUT...he said I''ll find you something. He took me on...he didn''t laugh at my meager budget (which would be a good mortgage in some towns...but in New York doesn''t seem to get much more than a cardboard box ...but under a GOOD bridge). He didn''t think I was crazy to want a full size kitchen and a bedroom that ACTUALLY would fit a BED! He didn''t say, I can''t help you when he found out about the size of my dog. He said...don''t worry...we''ll find something.
And after a difficult search...with him even sending me leads while I was traveling out of the country for work...and looking at tons of apartments... and getting more rejections based on my dog... we finally found something. FINALLY. A proper one bedroom. He negotiated the rent down to fit in my budget and got me the move in date that I wanted (pro-rated for the month...which seems to be an issue w/a lot of the buildings these days). He was calm, he was patient and now my dog and I can remain together in a lovely apartment, in a convenient location (3 stops to my job!!).
Oh...and to top it off, when I moved in...waiting for me was the gift of a little tin of olive oil from his family''s farm in Italy. Seriously? So, would I recommend Alpha, absolutely. Chris C. ... a pure class act.
The only downside was that I did end up paying a fee (although it was well below the standard broker fee rates in NYC).
And for the record... as a public service announcement: I have met more aggressive Chihuahuas than aggressive akitas. It''s all about training and socialization. (Just had to get that off my chest).
My roommates and I were looking for a 3 BR apt in the Gramercy/Flatiron area. This, being my third apartment search, I was quite familiar with how difficult it is to find a good apartment in NYC and the right broker. Through Alpha Properties, we worked with Tom Beron who blew away all our expectations. Not only did he find us a great a place at a very reasonable price, but he was very easy to work with. Throughout our search and application process he was very patient, never pushy, and always seemed to be working for our best interests. He had a lot of good listings to show us and worked with all our needs to ensure we would get the place we wanted. It was great having Tom as a broker and I would recommend him to anyone else looking for an apartment in NYC.
I worked with Tom Beron for a couple of months this year.
I found Tom to be pleasant, hard working and friendly.
He asked me lots of questions to hone in on what I was looking for...
And he had a good inventory of apartments to show in the area I was looking.
If I ever need a broker, I would gladly work with Tom again.
This review is based on my interaction with Yana Ataman during my apartment search in December 2013/January 2014. We were looking for a one bedroom apartment in a luxury building. Although we were on a budget, Yana was patient with us and showed us different properties in the city. We were moving here from Pittsburgh and she was very responsive over emails and phone. She even agreed to meet us on Sunday evenings to accomodate our work schedules and crazy timelines. Yana is an interesting person as well and she was comfortable chatting with my wife & myself about interesting coffee places and travel experiences. This made the process well grounded as apartment hunting in the city can be a pain! I would certainly recommend Yana to my friends looking for apartment in the city. Thanks Yana!
Ami is a wonderful broker who really cares about finding his clients a great deal. He was really helpful with trying to figure out what exactly I wanted (e.g., deal breakers, space requirements, location, etc.) and then doing an initial filter to make sure we didn''t waste time viewing apartments I wasn''t interested in. Furthermore, he was able to help me look at a place before it hit the market so that I could move fast on it. He is definitely someone I would work with again in case I ever need to find another apartment and he is someone I would refer to other people.
We have dealt with a lot of agents in our search for the right apartment and Ory at Alpha Properties is on the top of our list. He was very professional and provided us with options of exactly what we were looking for in record time. He is easily contacted at any time via e-mails and his mobile. He made sure we did not rush into anything we weren''t sure about and did not pressure us during the process. Even though we didn''t close the deal because of issues on our end, Ory made everything he could to accommodate our needs and to help us get the unit we wanted. I gladly recommend him for your apt search as he is flexible and understanding and will make that process as smooth as possible. Thank you Ory!
My roommate and I spent three stressful weeks looking at sub-par apartments with various realtors in Manhattan. We were hoping to find a two bedroom in the Upper East Side, albeit with a modest budget. After we saw about ten apartments (ranging from ridiculously non-livable railroads to quasi-convertible one-beds) , essentially, the message we were receiving was "your budget is too low."
I contacted Andi Antonucci at Alpha Realty, and the first two apartments she showed us were far superior than others we had seen (in regards to both layout, quality and price). Both apartments within the same area we had spent weeks surveying.
The second apartment Andi showed us was fantastic--huge, a true two-bed, newly renovated, one block away from the subway and cost less han any other apartments we had seen prior. When we found out an application had already been placed for the apartment, we were extremely disappointed; but then Andi called me at 8:00 the next morning to alert me the spot had re-opened, and got our materials approved for a lower cost than originally listed. She went out of her way to make sure we got first-dibs. The place is really too good to be true!
The management at Alpha, particularly Raanan, is extremely professional, friendly, and straight-forward about the often-murky application process.
I highly recommend Andi and Alpha Realty!
