My roomie and I had been tirelessly searching for an apartment for the month of October (due to some nightmarish roommate situations- but that''s another story) before recently signing a lease and moving into a really great apartment in the Upper East Side. Our agent, Andi Antonucci, was more than helpful in helping us find a home that was within our budget as well as within our preferences. She was always very prompt and polite in replying to emails, texts, and phonecalls and was very diligent throughout the entire process (all of which occurred in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy! She even met up with us to show us an apartment (which we now call home) late in the evening when both my roomie and I were both free to see it together.
The majority of agents my roommate and I had interacted with before coming to Alpha and to Andi, were your stereotypical realty slimeballs who probably didn''t care much for helping you find an actual home, but rather were more concerned with the numbers game, making a profit, and moving onto the next "client". Seriously- some of these guys will lie through their teeth and say anything to make the sell. I could see right through their bullshit.
So thank you Andi and Alpha Properties, thank you for being so sweet and professional, thank you for helping us find a place we can really call home, and thank you for being a HUMAN. Other agents- please take note.
She waived our application fee!
I had the easiest experience working with David Spittler. Late last Monday, I saw an ad on craigslist, emailed, got an instant response - saw the apt Tuesday, applied and signed the lease the same day! He was extremely easy to work with - even met up with me at the apt the next day so I could take measurements. David actually went above and beyond to get me the deal that I needed to make it work.
I never thought I''d use a broker to get a lease (I''ve never had one in 9 years in NYC) and this experience totally changed my attitude about them.
Having lived in several apartments in the city, I know very well how painful looking for a new apartment can be. This time around we had Tom Beron as our broker, and all I can say is that the experience was as good as it gets. He had a great sense of what my roommates and I were looking for, and has great relationships with building managers in the Murray Hill and Gramercy areas. His relationship with one company in particular paid off extremely well. He was able to negotiate the rent down $250 on the unit we were interested in. You can imagine that my roommates and I were thrilled when we heard this news. He charged a fair price too. I've definitely overpaid for much crappier apartments before. When it came to the application process, it's definitely tough to get three recent college grads with every document in order. Tom was very patient with us while still staying on point and making sure everything was in order for the management company. It was great to have him as a broker, and I'll definitely be using him again when I'm in the market for a new place. Fortunate for my roommates and I, the place he got us is great so it might be a couple of years until then. I'd say if you are looking for an apartment in the Murray Hill / Gramercy area, Tom is definitely the guy to reach out to.
I didn't think it was possible to actually trust a broker in NYC, but after meeting Eli, it became clear that he had our best interest in mind. He was able to find the perfect apartment for us and was completely flexible and understanding throughout the entire process. I will definitely be recommending him to friends who are apartment hunting!
After dealing with a seemingly never-ending trail of unscrupulous brokers, working with Eli to find our new home was a much needed breath of fresh air. He was direct, helpful, and truly on our side. We will certainly be working with him again in the future.
I appreciated that you were not pushy and did not put pressure on us. You were also very quick to respond to emails and phone calls, no matter what time it was.
"Besides being professional, knowledgeable & reliable, Eli made the apartment hunting experience extremely comfortable from start to finish."
All is well in the new place! We could not be happier.
Despite the unavoidable stress of moving, Eli was a guidance and support throughout our apartment search. He listened carefully to us, as he showed us apartment after apartment, and took in to consideration our thoughts on each place before showing us the next one in order to ensure our wants were being met and our time was not being wasted. When the "perfect" apartment came up, he did not hesitate, he acted to get it for us, and because of that, we really did end up with the perfect place to call our home.
"Eli really went the extra mile. He found us the perfect apartment and helped us through the application process. A great ally to have."
Hope this helps and all is well with you and yours.
Sorry this has taken me so long.
We were relocating from out of state so we were concerned that we wouldn't be able to find an apartment with all of the amenities we wanted. We worked with at least three other agents until we found Eli. He really listened to what we wanted and in the end found us a great, affordable apartment within the parameters we had set.

Hope you had a great holiday dinner! I just wanted to Thank You for all the work you had put into finding Chris and I an apartment. I know that we weren’t the easiest clients to work with at times but we truly appreciated all the waiting and late nights you gave in order to accommodate our difficult work schedule. Best of luck to you and I wish nothing but endless clients and large commissions!!!!
You are now “my real estate guy” in NYC!
On behalf of Stuart and I just wanted to say thanks again for your help with finding a great place.
I recently transitioned from LA to NYC for a job opportunity. I wanted to be close to work on the Upper West Side. My family mentioned I needed a broker since I was also moving my family and needed the space. I found Israel the VP from Alpha Properties on craigslist but was sceptical dealing with him since I was remote from LA. He knows the Upper West Side pretty well and since I was very particular about things, Israel knew where to look at. I had my brother-in-law meet up with him and Israel was very accomodating. My brother-in-law knew my taste and after viewing 3 buildings, Israel found an apartment with all the amenities I asked for and is only a 1 1/2 block walk to work. Even though we ran through some hurdles with the management company (not his fault), that didn''t stop him from reassuring me that the we have the lease. During the month we communicated remotely prior to signing the lease, he was very responsive even past 9pm ET (6PM PT), never rushed me to signing a lease, and had an overall great attitude even when I was running late. I had a backup broker on standby but never needed him since Israel never wasted my time when I was shopping for an apartment. Thank you Israel for such a pleasant experience.
Danny Goldshtein is an extremely helpful and patient real estate agent. My roommate and I had specific needs and took over a month to finally find an apartment. Danny spent more than any other agent we talked to would even consider. If you need a place, he is the agent for the job!
We recently went apartment hunting in the East Village. Alexander did a great job showing us tons of places. He was friendly, helpful and patient with us. We never felt pushed into anything. He knows his job. He''s honest. In a city like NY, those are two valuable assets.
David was a gentleman.
Extremely easy to work with.
Quick in responding to messages.
Showed very competitive listings.
Andi made our entire apartment hunting process super easy. We had been bait-and-switched by brokers a few times, but Alpha Properties completely alleviated any worries we had about the tough NYC real estate market. We actually applied for our apartment with CitiHabitats, paid the fee, and then were told the unit was rented to someone else at the last minute. We later met with Andi, who informed us the same unit was still on the market, and after checking with the landlord, told us that they had never received our application the first time we applied with Citi. We then ran down to her office, put in the app, and got everything taken care of very quickly. She was helpful, personable, and very professional. She knows the UES market really well; I''d definitely recommend her.
I contacted a lot of brokers while I was desperately looking for a new place. A year ago I was forced to move out of my apartment within 10 days. I didn''t want to move away from the upper east side so I tried to find something close to my old place. As soon as the brokers found out that I am from Europe they told me I would never be able to get an apartment unless I earn enough money and have someone guarantee for me that earns even more money. After a very long day of looking at apartments that were simply inacceptable I met with Andi Antonucci from alpha properties. I had almost given up hope, I had to move out the next day and so far not seen a single place that was close to what I was looking for. I told her right away that I am not a US resident and that my salary was not as high as expected, but that I would still be able to pay for everything. First thing she said was that I shouldnt worry, she would find an apartment for me. She was so nice and said she would only show me apartments from where she knew the landlords could accept me. Out of all brokers I met with she was the only person who actually showed me apartments within my price range and exactly in the neighborhood where I wanted to live. I moved into a beautiful and perfect one-bedroom apartment only four days later! Everyone at alpha properties new york, especially Andi Antonucci, was so caring and nice and really eager to make it happen for me to not only move in asap but actually find the place I was looking for.
I can only recommend alpha properties!
