I had a great experience using Gilad Talmor from Alpha Properties NYC. I was in a crunch to find an apartment over a long weekend and was moving from out of town. With one phone call, he set up several viewings in my location, amenity and price range requirements. He was responsive from the moment I indicated I wanted to submit an application to the lease signing and beyond, offering to gather measurements and floor plan details himself. Gilad also communicates through email and text, which I found very helpful in a notoriously fast-moving process. We were able to secure a fantastic apartment that far exceeded my expectations. He also negotiated the rent down and provided an 2-year lease option that was beyond expectation.
I had a nice experience with Alpha Properties recently. We had limited budget but we got a very good apt through Alpha. The agent, Jacob Cohen, is friendly and patient. He showed us 7+ apts on the first day. And we were interested in 2 of them. And we had need credit guarantor when we were signing the lease. Jacob also helped us a lot with that. Great thanks to Jacob and Alpha!
My roommate and I both moved from our homes in New Jersey back in May. We tried a different brokerage firm before finding Alpha. Andi responded to our request immediately and was ready to get started right away. Because we were first-time renters and fairly new to NYC, we tried our best to prepare ourselves with questions and concerns, while hoping not to be taken advantage of. Andi respected our requests and budget restrictions, and also did an excellent job of showing us apartments in the areas we had designated. All apartments we saw fit the descriptions we had provided. Andi never tried to convince us to pay higher than we could, and was very straightforward with the policies and procedures of Alpha. She was very quick to respond to our calls and emails at any hour, and very patient with the many questions we had. During lease signing, she made certain that we had the chance to read the entire contract over, agree to it, and ask questions. She also made it a point to have us in the office in person so that she could clarify the riders and make sure that we knew how to communicate with the management company and landlord. I would definitely work with Andi again and have already recommended Alpha and Andi to some friends interested in moving in the near future.
My roomie and I had been tirelessly searching for an apartment for the month of October (due to some nightmarish roommate situations- but that''s another story) before recently signing a lease and moving into a really great apartment in the Upper East Side. Our agent, Andi Antonucci, was more than helpful in helping us find a home that was within our budget as well as within our preferences. She was always very prompt and polite in replying to emails, texts, and phonecalls and was very diligent throughout the entire process (all of which occurred in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy! She even met up with us to show us an apartment (which we now call home) late in the evening when both my roomie and I were both free to see it together.
The majority of agents my roommate and I had interacted with before coming to Alpha and to Andi, were your stereotypical realty slimeballs who probably didn''t care much for helping you find an actual home, but rather were more concerned with the numbers game, making a profit, and moving onto the next "client". Seriously- some of these guys will lie through their teeth and say anything to make the sell. I could see right through their bullshit.
So thank you Andi and Alpha Properties, thank you for being so sweet and professional, thank you for helping us find a place we can really call home, and thank you for being a HUMAN. Other agents- please take note.
She waived our application fee!
My parents and I had a very positive experience with Alpha Properties!
We had never rented an apartment before and our agent, Saul Cohen, was
very patient, knowledgeable, hospitable, prompt, and helpful.
He first showed us multiple apartments. They were all clean, within
our budget, and in good neighborhoods. When we decided on an apartment
that we wanted to rent, Saul worked with us to
complete the necessary paperwork. He was exceedingly helpful
and patient, and we never felt pressured or rushed. He was happy to
answer any questions we had.
I highly recommend Alpha Properties NYC to anyone looking for an
apartment in the city. Ask for Saul! You won''t be disappointed.
I was in a bit of a bind trying to find a new apartment before my current lease was up (in a matter of days!) and Mike Chang from Alpha came to the rescue! Firstly, he responded quickly to an e-mail I sent regarding a few postings and set something up for the next day. After getting a good understanding of what I was looking for he mapped out a very efficient and time saving course for checking out a ton of apartments in a short amount of time. He wasted no time trying to persuade me on apartments I didn''t show any interest in and really made the search about me and what I wanted, which was refreshing compared to experiences I had in the past with other agents.
In the end, I found the perfect apartment and Mike encouraged me to move quickly... the two of us rushed to his office to get in the application and necessary paperwork in less than a day! All worked out and I was approved for the apartment. Mike and his colleague took me through the lease in a very detailed fashion, making sure I understood I was signing for.
All in all it was a pleasant experience and the process was fast and efficient. Mike was easy to talk to and was very patient with all my questions/concerns throughout the process (he was even gracious enough to hop of the phone with my parents to clarify a few things I was unsure of).
I would recommend Alpha Properties to anyone and would definitely use them again!
At my wit''s end. That''s where I was when I found an ad on yet another apartment finder site, for yet another "spacious one-bedroom" in the right neighborhood, at the right price that was... and here''s the biggest factor... PET FRIENDLY. I''d already been turned down by a couple of brokers who wouldn''t even work with me as I searched for a no-fee apartment that would accommodate me and my 100lb Akita. Apparently Akitas are considered aggressive breeds in NY...so even when I found apartments that allowed dogs over 50lbs...chances are they STILL wouldn''t allow my dog.
So anyway, I sent an email in response to the ad and heard back from Chris Corigliano from Alpha within the hour. Turns out that specific apt didn''t allow dogs over 25lbs (which, let''s face it...under 25lbs isn''t really even a dog)...BUT...he said I''ll find you something. He took me on...he didn''t laugh at my meager budget (which would be a good mortgage in some towns...but in New York doesn''t seem to get much more than a cardboard box ...but under a GOOD bridge). He didn''t think I was crazy to want a full size kitchen and a bedroom that ACTUALLY would fit a BED! He didn''t say, I can''t help you when he found out about the size of my dog. He said...don''t worry...we''ll find something.
And after a difficult search...with him even sending me leads while I was traveling out of the country for work...and looking at tons of apartments... and getting more rejections based on my dog... we finally found something. FINALLY. A proper one bedroom. He negotiated the rent down to fit in my budget and got me the move in date that I wanted (pro-rated for the month...which seems to be an issue w/a lot of the buildings these days). He was calm, he was patient and now my dog and I can remain together in a lovely apartment, in a convenient location (3 stops to my job!!).
Oh...and to top it off, when I moved in...waiting for me was the gift of a little tin of olive oil from his family''s farm in Italy. Seriously? So, would I recommend Alpha, absolutely. Chris C. ... a pure class act.
The only downside was that I did end up paying a fee (although it was well below the standard broker fee rates in NYC).
And for the record... as a public service announcement: I have met more aggressive Chihuahuas than aggressive akitas. It''s all about training and socialization. (Just had to get that off my chest).
Olga worked tirelessly to find the perfect place for my family. I felt like she really listened to what our needs were and scoured the market to find us our apartment. Our want list was pretty tough, but I knew when she showed me an apartment she did a good job pre-qualifying it for us.
As a young professional living in New York City, it is always a challenge to find trustworthy people in real estate.
Shawn was not only dependable, but extremely resourceful and very knowledgeable of the city. He was very understanding of my time constraint and only showed me things that he knew applied to my long list of demands.
In the end, he was able to find the most ideal apartment in a tight real estate market with the quickest turnover.
I worked with Andi Antonucci on getting a place of my own. She was very communicative and did a great job steering me in the right direction. She was honest up front about any fees and negotiable on her already low broker fee. Ms. Antonucci was willing to ride all over Manhattan in a taxi to ensure that I got the apartment that I wanted, and I really appreciated her dedication. If I don''t renew my lease on the space I just signed for, Alpha Properties will definitely be my first phone call when I start my next search.
