Israel was excellent at everything that needed to be done when dealing with rental of a coop in New York City. He kept me informed, educated me and handled all negotiations very professionally. I am a demanding client and I am very happy working with him.
Zach was dilligent, professional and listened. Pleasure to work with.
At my wit's end. That's where I was when I found an ad on yet another apartment finder site, for yet another "spacious one-bedroom" in the right neighborhood, at the right price that was... and here's the biggest factor... PET FRIENDLY. I'd already been turned down by a couple of brokers who wouldn't even work with me as I searched for a no-fee apartment that would accommodate me and my 100lb Akita. Apparently Akitas are considered aggressive breeds in NY...so even when I found apartments that allowed dogs over 50lbs...chances are they STILL wouldn't allow my dog.
So anyway, I sent an email in response to the ad and heard back from Chris Corigliano from Alpha within the hour. Turns out that specific apt didn't allow dogs over 25lbs (which, let's face it...under 25lbs isn't really even a dog)...BUT...he said I'll find you something. He took me on...he didn't laugh at my meager budget (which would be a good mortgage in some towns...but in New York doesn't seem to get much more than a cardboard box ...but under a GOOD bridge). He didn't think I was crazy to want a full size kitchen and a bedroom that ACTUALLY would fit a BED! He didn't say, I can't help you when he found out about the size of my dog. He said...don't worry...we'll find something.
And after a difficult search...with him even sending me leads while I was traveling out of the country for work...and looking at tons of apartments... and getting more rejections based on my dog... we finally found something. FINALLY. A proper one bedroom. He negotiated the rent down to fit in my budget and got me the move in date that I wanted (pro-rated for the month...which seems to be an issue w/a lot of the buildings these days). He was calm, he was patient and now my dog and I can remain together in a lovely apartment, in a convenient location (3 stops to my job!!).
Oh...and to top it off, when I moved in...waiting for me was the gift of a little tin of olive oil from his family's farm in Italy. Seriously? So, would I recommend Alpha, absolutely. Chris C. ... a pure class act.
The only downside was that I did end up paying a fee (although it was well below the standard broker fee rates in NYC).
And for the record... as a public service announcement: I have met more aggressive Chihuahuas than aggressive Akitas. It's all about training and socialization. (Just had to get that off my chest).
I had a great experience using Gilad Talmor from Alpha Properties NYC. I was in a crunch to find an apartment over a long weekend and was moving from out of town. With one phone call, he set up several viewings in my location, amenity and price range requirements. He was responsive from the moment I indicated I wanted to submit an application to the lease signing and beyond, offering to gather measurements and floor plan details himself. Gilad also communicates through email and text, which I found very helpful in a notoriously fast-moving process. We were able to secure a fantastic apartment that far exceeded my expectations. He also negotiated the rent down and provided an 2-year lease option that was beyond expectation.
I worked with Andi Antonucci in finding a low-cost apartment in Manhattan. She did a great job presenting me with several options, all within my price range. She wasn''t pushy (as many NYC brokers are). Once I found a place that fit, she was a great help in negotiating my rent with the Landlord, and got me a good price on the apartment.
It was a pleasure working with her, and I plan to refer her to all my friends.
"Dafna was an amazing asset in our search for our perfect apartment. She went out of her way to make sure that the broker process was simple enough for us to complete as a full time student and full time lawyer with little free time. The entire arrangement was always transparent and 6 months after signing our lease, I still recommend her to friends."
• To Whom it may concern,
I am writing in regards about your employee Dafna. I Had the pleasure in working with her on finding my new apartment back in November. She was so accommodating in showing the apartment I wanted to see. Dafna is great with people and made me feel comfortable in making a very big decision. She is timely, professional, and knowledgeable about her field of work. I am very lucky to have worked with her and super pleased about my living situation and how it all came to fruition. I would recommend Dafna to anyone who is looking for an apartment.
This was my first apartment by myself, so naturally I had all sorts of weird requirements, silly questions, and tons of hesitation in signing a lease. Dafna was very understanding, and she was more than willing to show me one particular apartment more than once. I had actually met her a few weeks ago when she showed me another apartment that didn't work out. Out of all the brokers in the city, I guess I was really meant to rent from her! I knew I had to have the apartment as soon as Dafna showed it to me, and she was very helpful in making that happen. We rushed to her office as soon as I decided, and I was out of there in under an hour. When there was a slight snag in the management company's scheduling, Dafna was very responsive, and worked with me as much as she could to come up with a viable solution. I love my apartment now, and Dafna is to thank!
Dear Dafna - You assisted us with getting an apartment for my daughter, Casey (Katherine) Smart, at Mulberry Street, and on which I am a co-signer. However, neither of us received a copy of the signed lease and I am writing to you now to ask that you send a copy to me at: Cynthia Smart Smart Legal Assistance 701 4th Ave. S. Suite 201 Minneapolis, MN 55415 She loves the apartment! Our compliments and thanks for your excellent, swift, professional and friendly service! Happy Spring! Thanks - Cynthia Smart
Being new to the city I was not sure what to expect in my search for my apartment. Alexander from Alpha Properties was great. I gave him the details of what I was looking for and the next day he showed me 9 or 10 different places in the neighborhood I was interested in until we found the right one. He was very responsive to all of my questions via text, email or phone call and showed a genuine interest and concern in finding me the right place!
Israel is a true professional. I had been referred to him by a good friend who had worked with him and trusted his services. I had been introduced to a number or agents prior & Israel stood apart. He listen to my needs, utilized his network & experience; MOST IMPORTANTLY WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE when I needed him. Israel is now a trusted friend & certainly a must have on your team.
Gilad, helped us, and he was GREAT really was amazing customer service and put every waking moment of his time into helping us find a home. I have never seen someone so dedicated to a person he had just met then he was, if you are in need of a new home and you need help come to Alpha, more importantly come to Gilad, he made a very painful process a little less painful
This review is based on my interaction with Yana Ataman during my apartment search in December 2013/January 2014. We were looking for a one bedroom apartment in a luxury building. Although we were on a budget, Yana was patient with us and showed us different properties in the city. We were moving here from Pittsburgh and she was very responsive over emails and phone. She even agreed to meet us on Sunday evenings to accomodate our work schedules and crazy timelines. Yana is an interesting person as well and she was comfortable chatting with my wife & myself about interesting coffee places and travel experiences. This made the process well grounded as apartment hunting in the city can be a pain! I would certainly recommend Yana to my friends looking for apartment in the city. Thanks Yana!
